Title: Infrastructure Senior Manager

Reporting line: Section Head of Infrastructure

Department: Technology Management Department

Job Purpose: To guide and control the secure and effective utilization of the Mainframe platforms and Systems through their continuous monitoring, problem-solving and upgrade.


Responsibilities:

  • Policies, Processes, Procedures: Implements approved departmental policies, processes, and procedures and provides instructions.
  • Day-to-day operations: Implements the day-to-day operations assigned for the Product Development function to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures
  • Budget: Provides input for the development of departmental budget and monitors performance against approved levels within own function, ensuring any variances are appropriately addressed.
  • Ensures the accurate, effective and timely installation and migration of the Mainframe components, configurations and applications. 
  • Directs & controls implementation/ migration process of the Mainframe components to achieve their accurate installation with the minimum interruption of business operations.
  • Guides the effective and continuous monitoring of the efficiency of the Mainframe, servers, database and applications.
  • Directs the daily provision of assistance and support to the end users, so as to facilitate the effective operation of the Mainframe.
  • Identifies any potential malfunction in the Mainframe efficiency and guides the implementation of solutions that will restore their efficiency according to banking standards and SLAs.
  • Controls the accurate connectivity of the required hardware and devices, for the effective utilization of systems and applications.
  • Ensures that the database (s), Storage and backups of all Mainframe are accurately secured, monitored and available for all relevant parties
  • Controls and guides the development of contingency and data recovery plans, providing the required systems' infrastructure.
  • Monitors and controls the implementation of tests at the Mainframe and proceeds to any required configuration or change.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems,
  • People Management: Ensures all staff have clear objectives, regular performance feedback sessions, formal annual appraisals, and individual development plans, with particular emphasis on the development of talented Saudinational staff. 


Experience & Skills: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT engineering or equivalent preferably at a post-graduate level.
  • 8 - 10 years of relevant management experience in Mainframe management and/or development.
  • Thorough knowledge of banking BT systems and applications
  • Very good knowledge of the operations and requirements
  • Very good knowledge of programming languages and operating systems relevant to the assigned business area.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Mainframe and platforms in use.
