The role holder is responsible to carry out all general accounting activities, in accordance with UAE & International Accounting standards / policies & procedures, as well as ensure the availability of accurate financial records to facilitate statutory and organisational requirements.
Job Description:
- Single point of contact (SPOC) for IFRS accounting and external financial reporting
- Responsible for record to report, invoice to pay, travel and expense, and invest to capitalize sub-streams
- Draft / recommend changes to / new accounting policies and procedures under IFRS methodology
- Plan and lead monthly financial close, central focal for all financial close activities in the company
- Review subledger related accounting entries and close all subledgers as part of monthly close
- Review and approve all manual journals and non-PO invoices
- Setup allocation and FX revaluation in GL
- Review all general ledger reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and intercompany reconciliations
- Review monthly trial balance and close general ledger periods
- Review group consolidation and review consolidated financial statements
- Finance SPOC for external audits
- Review and submit all external statutory and regulatory financial reports including VAT returns after manager review
- Finance focal for ERP accounting and reporting setup / maintenance
- Prepare and distribute standard and on-demand financial management reports
- Ensure all internal controls related to accounting and reporting are adhered to
Skills/Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years relevant experience, primarily within accounting operations, financial close, consolidation, and external reporting
- Strong understanding and implementation capabilities of IFRS (especially IFRS 9) and UAE accounting standard
- Strong business and financial acumen
- Significant analytical skillset, including the utilization of modern ERP, EPM & BI tools
- Excellent communication skills.
- Required Professional certification: CMA,CPA
- Bachelor's degree in finance
