Associate 1 – Investment Banking (ECM & M&A)Doha, QatarDepartment: Investment Banking
Job Summary:As an Associate 1 in the Investment Banking team, with a focus on Equity Capital Markets (ECM) and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), you will play a key role in the execution of capital raising and advisory mandates. Working closely with senior bankers and clients, you will be responsible for financial modeling, valuation analysis, preparation of marketing materials, due diligence coordination, and supporting the origination of new transactions across sectors.
Key Responsibilities:Transaction Execution:Lead the preparation of client presentations, investor decks, pitch books, and information memoranda.Develop and review complex financial models and valuation analyses (DCF, trading/transaction comps, LBO, merger models).Coordinate due diligence processes, data room management, and deal documentation across internal and external stakeholders.Work directly with clients, lawyers, auditors, and other advisors on live ECM and M&A transactions.
Market & Sector Analysis:Perform market research, industry benchmarking, and company analysis to support transaction strategies.Stay updated on market trends, valuation metrics, and capital markets developments, particularly in ECM (IPOs, rights issues, secondary offerings) and M&A activity.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification preferred.3–5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, with exposure to both ECM and M&A transactions.Strong technical skills in financial modeling, valuation, and transaction structuring.Solid understanding of capital markets dynamics and corporate finance principles.Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.High attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience:Exposure to emerging markets or frontier markets.Track record of contributing to successful ECM transactions (e.g., IPOs, private placements) and/or M&A deals.
