About the CompanyOur client, a well-established bank based in Dubai, is seeking an Operational Risk Manager to join its growing risk function. As part of its continued focus on strengthening operational resilience and risk oversight, the institution is looking to appoint an experienced risk professional to support the enhancement and governance of its operational risk framework.
Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and maintain the Operational Risk Management framework and associated policies for the GCC region, ensuring alignment with local regulatory requirements and Group-level standardsLead operational risk reporting, including risk appetite monitoring, risk profile analysis, and periodic reporting to senior management and governance forumsSupport the governance of operational risk across the region, including risk appetite frameworks, KRI development and monitoring, and escalation processesManage and enhance the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) programme across GCC operations, ensuring consistency, quality, and effective implementationOversee operational risk event management, including incident capture, root cause analysis, and identification of thematic risk trendsEnsure operational resilience considerations are embedded within RCSAs, including mapping of critical processes and key system dependencies to support business continuity and resilience planning
Requirements7–10+ years of experience in operational risk management within banking or broader financial servicesStrong knowledge of operational risk frameworks, including the three lines of defence model, RCSAs, KRIs, and operational loss event managementProven experience in risk governance, reporting, and embedding operational risk frameworks across business functionsStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret risk data and translate it into clear reporting and actionable insightsExcellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across risk, operations, and the businessProfessional risk certifications preferred, such as PRM, FRM, or equivalent operational risk qualifications
