About the ClientOur client, a leading bank in Dubai, is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Consultant to support a time-critical regulatory programme focused on SME Consumer Protection.
The consultant will play a key role in assessing current frameworks, identifying gaps, and driving remediation to ensure full compliance within the regulatory timeline.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct a detailed, article-by-article gap analysis across policies, processes, systems, controls, and documentation against CBUAE SME Customer Protection requirementsComplete and maintain a structured gap register in line with internal programme standardsTranslate identified gaps into clearly defined remediation actions or workstreams for PMO submissionWhere PMO support is not required, coordinate directly with stakeholders to agree remediation timelines and drive closureWork closely with project and delivery teams to ensure timely implementation ahead of regulatory deadlinesProvide regular progress updates, reporting, and management presentations to senior stakeholders
Key RequirementsStrong experience in CBUAE regulatory complianceDeep expertise in market conduct, consumer protection, and governance frameworks, particularly within SME and/or retail bankingProven track record delivering regulatory gap assessments and remediation programmesExperience with Skilled Person reviews or supervisory-led regulatory assessmentsAbility to translate regulatory requirements into actionable changes across policies, processes, and systemsStrong stakeholder management experience, including engagement with senior leadershipPrior experience within UAE banking environments is essentialExposure to Islamic banking regulations is advantageous
