Role SummaryThe CMO will own the end-to-end marketing function for a high-growth fintech company, driving product-led growth, brand positioning, customer acquisition, and revenue impact. This role suits a full-stack marketing leader with deep product marketing expertise, proven go-to-market execution, and the ability to blend creative flair with analytical rigour. It is both strategic and hands-on: setting vision, building a high-performing team, and being close to the detail of campaigns, product launches, and customer journeys.
Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and own the overall marketing strategy to support company growth, brand equity, and revenue goals.Lead product positioning and messaging, translating complex features into clear customer benefits that drive adoption and differentiation.Design and execute go-to-market plans for new products and features, coordinating cross-functional teams and setting clear success metrics.Build data-driven marketing roadmaps and allocate budgets effectively across channels, optimising for CAC, LTV, and sustainable growth.Drive multi-channel acquisition and engagement (e.g. paid, organic, content, social, partnerships, lifecycle/CRM).Establish robust marketing analytics and reporting frameworks to forecast impact, optimise performance, and inform strategic decisions.Shape and protect the brand narrative and visual identity, ensuring consistent, high-quality creative across all touchpoints.Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of accountability, creativity, and experimentation.Partner closely with Product, Commercial/Sales, and Executive leadership to ensure alignment on priorities, messaging, and growth initiatives.Commission and interpret customer, market, and competitive insights to refine strategy and identify new opportunities.Manage agencies and external partners to extend capability while maintaining high standards and clear ROI.
Person SpecificationExperience & SkillsSignificant senior marketing leadership experience (and good tenures e.g. 3+ years) in a tech startup or related high-growth environments.Demonstrated success in product marketing: positioning, messaging, segmentation, and go-to-market across multiple channels and customer segments.Strong track record of driving measurable growth, with fluency in marketing metrics, performance analytics, and forecasting.Proven ability to build, lead, and inspire high-performing teams, including hiring, coaching, and developing talent.Comfort operating at both strategic and tactical levels; willing to “roll up sleeves” and get into the detail of campaigns and creative.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to influence at C-suite and board level.Mindset & AttributesStrategic thinker with a medium– to long-term view, able to prioritise initiatives that build durable brand and commercial value.Combines creativity with analytical acumen; uses data to test, learn, and refine, without losing sight of brand and customer experience and happy rolling up sleeves in a flat structure and lean team.Confident and decisive, able to challenge constructively and say no when initiatives do not align with strategy.Highly organised, resilient, and comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.Passionate about innovation and customer-centricity, with a genuine interest in shaping how products are experienced and adopted.
